A 25-Hour Somatic Yin Yoga Training & Retreat

A trauma-informed approach to deepening your practice and developing your teaching skills.

Join Elaine Clark in Bali for an immersive training bringing together Yin yoga, functional anatomy, traditional meridian theory, and somatic exploration.

Designed for yoga teachers and those seeking a deeper personal practice, this training explores both how we practice and why—from the tissues and joints involved in a posture to the ways attention, sensation, and individual experience shape our response.

Through guided practices and practical workshops, you’ll explore foundational Yin postures, experiment with adaptations, and learn to create purposeful sequences for yourself or your students.

A somatic approach runs throughout: learn to notice internal sensations, explore movement, and use that information to guide your choices in practice.

Alongside the 25 hours of learning, you'll have time to rest, connect, and enjoy Bali.

What we’ll explore

  • Foundations & Philosophy of Yin Yoga

  • Yin Postures, Functional Anatomy & Individual Variation

  • Fascia, Connective Tissue & Mobility

  • Breath Mechanics & Awareness

  • Meridian Theory & the Five Elements

  • Somatic Awareness & the Nervous System

  • Stillness, Mindfulness & Meditation

  • Props, Adaptations & Safe, Accessible Practice

  • Trauma-Informed Teaching & Cueing

  • Sequencing & the Art of Guiding

  • Practice Teaching & Supportive Feedback

  • Personal Practice, Reflection & Integration

Who this is for

This training welcomes:

  • Yoga teachers who want to explore Yin through a somatic lens and develop more responsive ways of guiding practice.

  • Anyone who wants to deepen their understanding of themselves through Yin yoga, movement, and reflection.

  • Practitioners who value experiential learning and want time to explore beyond a regular yoga class.

*You do not need to be a yoga teacher to attend. Teaching exercises will include options for those attending for personal development.

A training with room to retreat

The 25 hours of structured learning will include guided practices, workshops, discussion, reflection, and practical integration.

The retreat schedule will also allow time for meals, rest, and free time outside training hours. You'll have opportunities to connect with others or time on your own.

Certificate & Continuing Education

Upon completion of the full training, participants will:

  • Receive a 25-hour certificate of completion in Somatic Yin.

  • Develop practical tools for adapting Yin postures and creating thoughtful sequences.

  • Build confidence in bringing somatic awareness, accessible options, and responsive guidance into their practice or teaching.

This training provides 25 hours of continuing education toward Yoga Alliance requirements.

You’re also welcome to attend for personal enrichment, with space to integrate what you learn into your own practice.
