Begin Again. This time as you.

Maybe you have witnessed this too.

A dancer overtaken by passion. A chemical infection permeates her cells. She is unbound and limitless.

Like most of us, I am spellbound by talent and creative gifts, but more so by those that seem to move through us, not from us.

I believe some of our most cherished moments are when we experience another's authenticity, and when we authentically express ourselves.

Creative femme, here are 3 reminders to help you flourish.

Comparison is a thief

We live in a world where our lives are too easily compared.

With an instant click, tap or login to social media, comparison begins and authenticity drifts out at sea. The best performers make success, fame, and beauty look effortless.

Stepping into our authenticity requires that we step away from comparison.

The next time you fall into the comparison trap, try this.

"Nuh-uh, thanks comparison, not today."

Undue emphasis on comparison distorts our authentic selves. It robs us of our joy and leaves us feeling empty and disconnected.

Comparison, all too much, is the thief of joy, and it's gotta go!

De-armour

Consider a moment when you "shrinked" to avoid fully expressing yourself.

Now, consider a moment where you felt taken over by joy, awe, reverence, or love.

It's tempting to shield or withdraw from being vulnerable. To be authentic is to be vulnerable, but it also builds intimacy and connection with others.

Authenticity is an engaged and honest way of living. It takes courage to live authentically.

Stop any kind of jealousy, fear, shame, regret, or guilt in it's tracks and shift your focus to a memory where you felt open at the heart.

Repetition and patience is key.

Keep on breaking down that armour lady.

Trust yourself

Acknowledge the aspects of yourself that you’d rather hide away.

It's ok, we all have them.

Trust yourself that when you are ready, the feeling to hide will be transformed.

An uncomfortable level of disclosure is the secret sauce to your breakthrough and to living more authentically.

Trust yourself, and trust that when you're ready to express, it will come from a genuine place of authenticity.

Life will continuously ask us to choose. So I encourage you, begin again, but this time, as you.
